FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We offer a comprehensive range of flight training for fixed-wing aircraft, from Private Pilot Certification through Airline Transport Pilot (ATP). We specialize in accelerated programs for most ratings, including Private, Instrument, Commercial, CFI, CFII, and Multi-Engine. We also provide traditional (self-paced) training, Cirrus-specific training as an Authorized Training Center, and various endorsements like seaplane, tailwheel, and high-performance.

The duration depends entirely on the program you choose. Our accelerated courses are designed to be completed in a very short, focused timeframe, often ranging from 7 to 21 days, weather permitting. Traditional training is self-paced and depends on your availability and schedule. Each course page on our website provides a detailed footprint and expected timeline.

To begin training for a Private Pilot Certificate, you must be at least 16 years old to solo and 17 to receive your certificate. You must be able to read, speak, and understand English. Before you can solo, you will also need to pass at least a Third-Class FAA Medical Examination. For advanced ratings, specific flight time and prerequisite certificates are required as outlined by the FAA.

The most common path, often called "Zero to Hero," starts with a Private Pilot Certificate, followed by an Instrument Rating and a Commercial Pilot Certificate. To build the flight time required by airlines, most pilots then become a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) to teach others. From there, you can add CFII (Instrument Instructor) and MEI (Multi-Engine Instructor) ratings. Once you meet the flight time requirements (typically 1,500 hours), you can earn your Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and are eligible to be hired by an airline.

We operate a modern, diverse, and well-maintained fleet primarily consisting of Diamond and Cirrus aircraft. Our fleet includes Diamond DA20s, DA40s, and multi-engine DA42s, as well as Cirrus SR20 and SR22 aircraft. We also have specialized aircraft for seaplane, tailwheel, and aerobatic training. All our primary training aircraft are equipped with modern glass-cockpit avionics.

Yes. We have state-of-the-art flight simulators that are crucial to our training programs, especially for instrument and advanced training. Our simulators include a Flight 1 Tec G6 Sim and an ALSIM ALSR G7 for Cirrus training, as well as a PFC AATD Full Motion Simulator for our Twin Cessna programs. These devices allow students to practice procedures and emergencies in a safe, controlled environment.

The cost of training varies significantly based on the specific certificate or rating. Each program is offered as a flat rate that includes the required flight time, ground instruction, training materials, and the examiner's fee for the checkride. Yes, to make our accelerated programs as seamless as possible, we offer convenient and affordable on-site lodging options for our students. We also provide access to vehicles during your stay. This allows you to focus completely on your training without worrying about logistics. Please let us know you require lodging and transportation when you book your training.

Course Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Minimum of 250 hours of flight time (50 hours of this may come from an AATD simulator) (100 hrs in powered aircraft, 50 hrs in airplanes, 100 hrs as pilot in command - which 50 hrs must be cross-country flight time)
  • Commercial pilots must hold an instrument rating, or be restricted to flying for hire only in daylight, under visual flight rules (VFR), within 50 miles of the originating airport
