Program Summary
The Midwest Corporate Air, Inc. (MCA) Cessna Citation 525 (CE525) training course is designed to offer initial training for the CE525 type rating (PIC or SIC) as well as initial or upgrade training for the CE525S type rating. In addition, an abbreviated option for annual recurrent training for completion of a FAR 61.58 proficiency check and/or recurrent training for the purposes of insurance compliance is offered as part of this syllabus. The package price of any of the levels of this course includes all instructor brief/debrief time. A certificate of completion will be issued upon successful completion of the course.

Program Timeline
The CE525 Training Program is designed to be flexible given someone’s experience with the type. In addition, online training to supplement the ground training can be completed online with our Learning Management System (LMS) prior to arrival at MCA to speed up the onsite portion of the training. Completion of the online training does not satisfy proficiency with the knowledge and a review of the knowledge will still be completed onsite.

1 – Online training is granted upon deposit for the course and consists of multiple modules to be completed prior to arrival at MCA. A certificate of completion should be turned in prior to or at arrival in order to continue training.

2 – CE525S Upgrade course is only available to those who currently hold the CE525 PIC type rating. If a CE525 SIC wishes to go straight to CE525S they would simply enroll in the CE525S Initial course.

*You may upgrade to ATP from commercial pilot license during any CE525 PIC or CE525S initial or upgrade course, assuming all prequalification for the ATP rating are met prior to the course (written, ATP-CTP, and all time requirements).

Course Details

Online Learning MCA utilizes an at-home learning management system (LMS) to supplement your ground training and help prepare you prior to your arrival at MCA. This speeds up your onsite training and minimizes your time away from home. The LMS is broken into different modules which are recommended to be done in order, but can be done in any order based on your current experience. All modules must be completed in their entirety to be issued the training certificate. You should complete all modules, quizzes, and the post-test prior to your arrival at MCA. You will not be permitted to be scheduled into the simulator or flight portions of the course without the completion certificate.

Ground Training Upon arrival at MCA, you will have 1 to 4 days of ground training in a classroom based on your course needs. The ground training is tailored as an overall review and more specifically covering the weaknesses identified during the online training for the participants in the course. A combination of the online training and the ground training is used as preparation for the oral portion of the check ride. The ground training in particular will cover weight & balance, aircraft performance, flight planning, review of the aircraft manuals, checklists, weather, high altitude aerodynamics, and more.

Simulator Training Time will be booked in the simulator as either a crew or as a single-pilot operation based on the scheduling needs of the participants in the course. Our full-motion simulator is located in the building next to the main school at Bellefontaine Regional Airport (known as the 7/25 Hangar). Simulator sessions will review normal, abnormal, and emergency scenarios as well as be used as preparation for your actual flights in the aircraft and your check ride. As an added bonus, we can place your training at your home airport in the simulator as well as build our profiles to airports that are similar to those you will frequent as well as introduce you to new airports.

Flight Training (in aircraft) Finally, you will complete some training in the actual aircraft. The different levels of this course offer different amounts of flight time. Flights will be conducted in either ‘crew’ or ‘single-pilot’ fashion based on course needs. In the event of a ‘crew’ scenario, the instructor/examiner will act as the other crew member opposite the student. For ‘single-pilot’ type ratings, the instructor/examiner will act as just that, and will not participate in the flight as a ‘crew member’.

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Minimum of 250 hours of flight time (50 hours of this may come from an AATD simulator) (100 hrs in powered aircraft, 50 hrs in airplanes, 100 hrs as pilot in command - which 50 hrs must be cross-country flight time)
  • Commercial pilots must hold an instrument rating, or be restricted to flying for hire only in daylight, under visual flight rules (VFR), within 50 miles of the originating airport
